Polycarbonate Safety Sunglasses

The lenses in our safety sunglasses are made from polycarbonate plastic - the lightweight, shatter-proof and impact-resistant tough stuff that is necessary for them to be fully certified for eye protection under AS/NZS 1337:1992 (ANSI Z87.1 equivalent). Part of that testing process assesses the strength of the frames under impact as well - guess what, even our frames are polycarbonate and pass with flying colours.

As an added bonus our polycarbonate safety lenses are also UV400 rated glare resistant (100% protection against both UVA and UVB) and have an anti-fog coating to elimate condensation build-up.

Different lens tints for different lighting conditions:

• Smoke Polycarbonate Lens - A neutral grey tinted safety lens for excellent all-round visibility in all day-time lighting conditions and minimal colour distortion.
• Clear Polycarbonate Lens - No tint at all - great visibility (even at night) and no colour distortion. We've added a gold mirror finish to this one just to give a bit of brightness reduction for daytime use - light is reflected off the mirror surface rather than passing through it.

We specially recommend the clear lens polycarbonates for night bike riding due to the impact resistant anti-fog lens and the lighter tinting. All this, a removable and adjustable strap, plus they float! What a bargain!!

A Word About Floating: Yes, they float, but it's the strap and the foam insert that make that happen. Also, while fully waterproof and great for watersports, the foam will become waterlogged after about 45 minutes of full immersion. The basic deal is that if you're wearing them in, on or around the water, if you drop them in the water you've got heaps of time to retrieve them (unless they float away), but don't expect them to float with the bits that make them float removed, or to be able to float forever. Just thought we'd let you know.

Adjustable Frame Polarized Safety Sunglasses This model doesn't have a strap but it does have pivoting and length adjusting arms. The arms pivot by +/- 20° through the vertical, and the arm length can be adjusted within a 15mm range for a more precise fit.
